Shore Hotel – Luxury Hotel in Santa Monica, CA

Shore Hotel – Luxury Hotel in Santa Monica, CA

As a mom of three little kids, a girls weekend away was exactly what I needed. I met up with two of my girlfriends in Santa Monica, California at Shore Hotel and proceeded to have the best weekend ever.

First of all, you can’t beat the location. Shore Hotel is literally right across the street from the beach at Santa Monica Pier. There are walking and running trails, a dreamy shoreline, fantastic restaurants and nightlife, and the Pier itself which has shops, booths, fantastic photo ops, and a nostalgically fun small amusement park area. Riding the roller coaster at sunset, right on the beach was definitely a highlight. We felt like kids again and they even let us go on another ride for free!

A few blocks inland brings you to Third St. Promenade which has incredible shopping and ambience. Any store you could wish for is represented there. There are also beautiful fountains, benches, and amazing restaurants. We ate at a crepe cafe for breakfast and about died. The night scene there is also both fun and charming with lights and lots of street performers.

The hotel itself was incredible. It is the first and only hotel in Santa Monica to be LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold Certified. It prides itself on its leadership in sustainability while not compromising on sleekness and comfort. Knowing how environmentally conscious the hotel was made me feel great about staying there and supporting their cause of reducing our carbon footprint.

Our room was pristine, modern, and beautiful. The service was impeccable and the onsite pool and bar were both relaxing and fun. We ate lunch poolside and were so pleased at the quality of the food and drinks.

Shore Hotel also has something called the Green Concierge program which boasts a wealth of worthwhile information that is pertinent to enjoying the area while remaining sustainable and eco-friendly. They have info about the best farmers’ markets on any given day of the week, the best ways to get around (including the newly opened Expo Line, hybrid taxis and bicycles), free programs and events like the Twilight Concert series, and lists of walking tours, hikes, surf lessons, and yoga classes.

This really was a dream weekend that I would love to do again. The hotel exceeded expectations and created a fun, eco-friendly space for relaxation, fun, and excitement. If you’re looking for a great hotel in Santa Monica, I’d strongly recommend Shore Hotel!
