Deer Valley – Park City, Utah Resort

If you are looking for gorgeous snow, an impeccable ski resort, cozy and luxurious accommodations, and food that is out of this world, you MUST go to Deer Valley. My wife and I spent an amazing weekend there and came away already planning our next trip back.

We stayed at the Goldener Hirsch hotel which boasts all of the beauty and old European charm of its namesake in Salzburg, Austria. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, the restaurant was delicious, and the rooms were spacious, elegant, and cozy. Our room showcased a balcony, roaring fireplace, and sumptuous four poster bed. Our window and balcony overlooked the ski hills of the Deer Valley ski resort. The mountains in Park City are truly spectacular.

We ate dinner at the fabulous Mariposa. We enjoyed an eight course meal that was unforgettable. The highlights were the scallops and the bison filet. Never have we enjoyed such tender, flavorful, and delicious meat. We are still talking about it. Seriously.

The next day we rented skis and gear from the very helpful staff, and skied down beautifully maintained ski hills with courteous fellow skiers and friendly lift workers. We then enjoyed lunch at the Royal Street Cafe. We saw bison on the menu and had to order it. The bison burger did not disappoint! We also loved the nachos and the crab cake tower. It was incredible.

Deer Valley has a delightful village of shops, cafes, restaurants, and interesting visitors. The atmosphere is laid back, fun, and charming. We made friends with our waiters and felt welcomed by all. 10 out of 10 would recommend to anyone looking for an amazing vacation in the mountains.
