Hacienda de San Rafael
I had been to Seville, Spain once when I was 19 years old and a study abroad student in London. I loved the city. The Catheral, the Alcazar, the Plaza de Espana. The city boasts lovely streets, lemon trees, shops, and buildings of huge historical significance and beauty. What I didn’t know was how incredible the surrounding countryside is. Staying at the Hacienda de San Rafael of Kiwi Collection is the perfect choice if you want to see Seville and the region. Tucked into the countryside, the Hacienda is one of the most idyllic and relaxing places we have ever been.
The casitas are the best way to go, in my opinion. The privacy afforded to you is beyond compare. The casitas themselves are gorgeously decorated. The rustic charm of the interior decor was breathtaking. Antiques blend with modern luxuries to create the perfect setting. Outside, you are surrounded by beautifully maintained gardens and orchards with private pools and outdoor dining areas. The birds and natural world provide a delightful soundtrack to the sights and feel of the resort. Breakfast and dinner arrived by course at our private eating area for our family outside of our casita and each meal was completely delicious.
Our pool was beautiful and refreshing and my children loved the freedom of having it all to themselves. They could play among the flowers and trees, enjoying the warm breezes and then run back for another dip in the pool. Whether you are traveling as a family or alone or with another adult, this place is the perfect destination.
If you go in late spring, early summer, there are sunflower fields all through this region. It is a breathtaking sight. And the Pueblos Blancos (white villages) of Andalusia are a short drive from the Hacienda as well. These towns are incredible. Built into mountains and hillsides, the white cities are stunning.
I cannot recommend this resort enough. It was a breath of fresh air and a once in a lifetime experience that we will never forget.
