Hotel Monge – Paris Hotel Review

Hotel Monge – Paris Hotel Review

My wife and I just got back from a quick trip to Paris. While there we stayed at the Hotel Monge and had a once in a lifetime experience there. The 30 room hotel was originally a house and it is located in the Latin Quarter at the heart of the fifth arrondissement of Paris. It’s charming Second Empire facade encloses an interior that was newly renovated and just reopened this year in 2016. The decor is a lovely blend of old and new with art, furniture, marble fireplaces, and antiques and modern conveniences, crisp structure, and fiber optic lighting.

Our room had charming botanical wallpaper and an Italian style shower. We were so impressed by the front desk/concierge. They gave us fantastic advice on where to go, where to eat, and what to see. Our first evening there they recommended a walk to the Montmarte neighborhood to see some interesting and exciting shops, restaurants, artists, and architecture.

Within easy walking distance to the Notre Dam, St. Chappelle, and the Left Bank, it was easy to navigate and make the most of our short amount of time in Paris. One day we walked over eleven miles and came back exhausted. The front desk quickly suggested we make use of their gorgeous steam room downstairs where our tired muscles quickly relaxed.

Their breakfast buffet “a la francaise” was incredible and included everything from fresh orange juice, coffee, hot chocolate, organic breads and pastries, meats, cheeses, eggs, and fish. The atmosphere could not have been more charming and perfect.

In Hotel Monge we have found a new favorite spot. A true luxury hotel in the heart of Paris. We will definitely stay there again next time we are lucky enough to visit the City of Lights!
