Anantara Vilamoura Algarve Resort

Arriving at the Anantara Vilamoura Algarve Resort in Algarve, Portugal was a dream come true. The aesthetic and design of this Kiwi Collection hotel is gorgeous. The casual elegance and mid century modern sleekness of the large reception, restaurant, hallways, and rooms was delightful. The resort perfectly blends into the cool, yet sophisticated beach vibes of the region.

We stayed here for three days and could have happily stayed for many more. There is so much to do here! The two full size pools and one smaller, infants pool are gorgeous. Our family spent many delightful hours lounging in the plush beach chairs and cabanas and splashing in the beautiful water. The kids club has a fantastic playground as well. The golf course is one of the best we’ve seen! And the spa is amazing. The traditional Thai massage I received was exceptional with a blend of essential oils, aroma therapy, massage, and a steam shower at the end. I have rarely left a spa so relaxed.

If you want to venture outside of the resort for additional entertainment, it is under an hour to Lagos, Portugal which has the incredible caves and beaches such as Ponta da Piedade and Benagil to name a few. These are truly fantastic and a once in a lifetime experience. Anantara also provides tuk tuk rides to a beachside resort nearby where they can reserve cabanas for you along a gorgeous coastline. The warm Portuguese sun and bright blue water and waves make for a perfect beach day.

Lastly, I have to mention the restaurant. The breakfast and dinner buffets are incredible both for the food and the ambience. The chefs are world class and the selection is vast and delicious. The staff is also very friendly, professional, and helpful. We felt like we were leaving friends by the time we had to depart.

This hotel provided an experience that my family and I will never forget!
