Ritz-Carlton Kapalua Resort Review

An Honest Review of The Ritz-Carlton Kapalua Resort

We were fortunate and lucky enough to stay at The Ritz-Carlton Kapalua Resort a few weeks ago. I can honestly say that it was one of the best stays of our lives.

There was only one thing wrong with our entire stay, and that thing is that our stay was too short! Next time we will make sure we are there longer. Our short 4-day stay was incredibly rejuvenating and perfect.

The garden area at the entrance was so inviting. Everyone welcomed us with genuine smiles. I thought about that as we were walking in…and decided…it must be because they actually LIVE in Hawaii!

We were shown to our room and it was A M A Z I N G! First you enter the kitchen area with a welcoming note and local Maui Goat Cheese and Crackers for a snack. Yummy! Then wander over and sit on the cushy couch in the Living Room (with a huge TV if wanted) and nice balcony with a table, chairs and a settee. It overlooked the pool and also had a  beautiful view of the ocean and part of the golf course. The Bedroom had ANOTHER balcony, king bed and bathroom with shower and separate bathtub. We slept with the balcony doors open each night and the sound of the birds and the waves was SO relaxing. The maid service was “top drawer”. And speaking of drawers, I left about 10 items in one that I forgot to check. I didn’t realize it until a few days later.  I contacted them and they had found it all and sent it home to me at their cost! My mistake and they apologized. A very sweet woman handled it all for us.

The pool. Love that there is a Maui Jim sunglass kiosk poolside. I left my good glasses at home. We had fun trying everything on and I found a pair I loved. They have separate kids and adult pools.  Nice to just be able to float around and know I wasn’t going to be interrupted by a Marco Polo game!  The water was perfect. Later that night we met a nice couple in the hot tub and visited for awhile. They have two different hot tubs available, with two different temperature settings. I’m not kidding! They do not leave you wanting for anything!

The first morning there we ate at the breakfast buffet downstairs from the lobby. FRESH OMELETS made to order! Also, so many different breads, baked goods and fruits. A few that I had never seen in my life and Googled them to see what they were. Very exotic and delicious.

We booked a whale watching excursion and met together at some sort of kids education room ahead of time so they could tell us what to expect. My first impression was “well this is going to be dumb, we’re not kids”. Well it wasn’t dumb, it was downright interesting and incredible! The woman in charge of explaining was so knowledgable and she accompanied us on our boat trip. She explained things along the way and it made it more enjoyable to hear all her fun facts. We saw TWELVE whales! It was so exciting.

We also enjoyed an amazing dinner at The Banyan Tree. A gourmet restaurant on the premises. It was truly THE BEST STEAK I have ever had in my life. I couldn’t even finish it though because we had a few appetizers beforehand (and we were saving room for dessert). The waiter was wonderful, his name escapes me, but he’s from Persia.

Needless to say, the beach was to die for. The hotel was perfect. The staff was kind and attentive. The beauty was amazing.

Overall this was one of our favorite vacations ever.  We relaxed, we were pampered, and we had a blast.  All the great things you want from a hotel. I would highly recommend The Ritz-Carlton Kapalua Resort to anyone and everyone looking for a true luxurious experience in Maui.
