Prince de Galles Paris Hotel Review

On a quick getaway to Paris with my wife, we arrived tired, jet-lagged, and excited at the Prince de Galles Hotel. This 5-star luxury hotel exceeded every one of our expectations. It is decorated in the Art Deco style to honor it’s inception in 1928. Rich dark colors with beautiful gold accents in whimsical lines surround you the moment you enter the building. All members of the staff from the concierge to the bellhops were helpful, gracious, and friendly.

Our spacious room (one of 115, in addition to 44 luxury suites) had everything we could wish for. Flat screen TV, comfortable bed, beautiful view, and luxurious bathroom with the most beautiful gold mosaics that I’ve ever seen. The only way we could convince ourselves to leave the room was knowing that a two minute walk outside would bring us to the Champs Elysees. We spent hours exploring this famous street, ending at the Arc de Triomphe and enjoying the gorgeous views of Paris. In the opposite direction it is around 5-10 minutes to the Eiffel Tower. Nothing compares to seeing the tower lit up at night. The excitement in the air is palpable.

We told the concierge to surprise us with a dinner reservation the first night. We ended up at a little restaurant off the main avenues and were treated to one of the best meals of our lives. The owner/chef was also one of the kindest people we’ve met while traveling. He explained our meals, made suggestions, answered our questions and we left feeling like we had made a friend.

The Hotel also boasts a well stocked fitness room and one of the best breakfasts we’ve ever had. The omelettes were superb and the buffet of meats, cheese, fish, breads, and fresh juices were the high point of our morning. And take a look at their desserts…
