Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas Review

The Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas Hotel – A Luxurious Refuge

My wife and I just returned from a weekend trip to Las Vegas. We went for two incredible important reasons: To see Cirque Du Soleil for the first time, and to see the Backstreet Boys in concert. To our surprise, the only thing we wanted to do was hang out at the Mandarin.

The Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas Hotel was an absolute dream. It’s located right on the strip, just a block away from the Bellagio. So location-wise, it cannot be beat.

From the moment you arrive at the Mandarin you are met with luxury and seclusion. The entrance, although right on the strip, takes you through a little underground road and up into an almost secret location. There, the staff takes your car, greets you kindly, and shows you to check-in. The staff is amazing. After we checked in, we went to our room, which had an amazing view of the Strip. The weather was perfect, so we hurried and changed into our swim attire and made our way to the pool.

Sidenote: The entire hotel is smoke-free and gambling-free. This obviously does not suit everyone. But with a pregnant wife, the smoke-free atmosphere was incredibly welcomed for us. The gambing-free rule made the hotel quite serene, which was fantastic.

Once we got to the pool, we didn’t want to leave. We were almost late to both Cirque Du Soleil and Backstreet Boys both days because we couldn’t tear ourselves away from the perfect pool. The weather was about 80 degrees. The pool had views of palm trees, sun, sky, and other beautiful hotels. But you couldn’t hear anything outside of the premises, so you feel like you’re in a desert oasis while you’re there. The food is divine. We had lunch and dinner there both days of our visit, and did not regret it.

We arrived on a Friday, and left on a Sunday. Next time, we’ll want to stay at least twice as long. After staying in many hotels in Las Vegas over the years, we’ve found our hotel of choice. The Mandarin is excellent.
